The Nature Coast is hands down the most beautiful part of Florida, if you ask us! Maintaining our springs and protecting local wildlife and waterways is a priority both for Advanced Septic and the State of Florida. That said, new standards under the BMAP and Water Quality movement are creating uncertainty for home and business owners throughout our area. Here’s what you need to know:
If your site is located in the Primary Focus Area (PFA) and is less than 1-acre, then the corresponding septic system must meet BMAP requirements. The majority of our Gulf Coast counties are in the PFA. For more information on site location and BMAP, call our office at 352-795-1001; Environmental Health or visit the DEP website.
Contractors, builders and homeowners are not required to use one specific system. The state has allowed multiple options that meet the recently acquired BMAP regulations.
